iPhone Contacts Not Showing Up: Try Out These Solutions to Get them Back
Possible Solutions
- Sign Out of iCloud and Sign in Back
- Delete Previously Synced iCloud Contacts

Solution #1. Sign Out of iCloud and then Sign in Back, Make Sure Contacts Switch is Enabled
Step #1. Open Settings app → iCloud (in iOS 10.3, tap on profile and then tap on iCloud.)
Step #3. Next, quit Settings.
Step #4. Now, Sign In to your iCloud account.
Solution #2: Delete Previously Synced iCloud Contacts and Resync Them on Your iPhone
Step #1. Launch Settings on your iPhone → Tap on iCloud. (You need to click on your profile picture in iOS 10.3 or later. Then, click on iCloud.)
Step #3. Turn off the switch next to Contacts → Now, you need to tap on Delete from My iPhone.
Step #5. Quit the Settings app and force reboot your iPhone.
Step #6. Once your iOS device has restarted, open Settings → iCloud.
Step #7. Now, you need to turn on the switch next to Contacts.
Then, quit the Settings app, wait for some time. Then, turn off the Contacts switch and select Keep on My iPhone. Now, wait for some time and turn on the Contacts switch again.
Note: If some of your contacts are available only on your iPhone, you would be asked; “What would you like to do with your existing local contacts on your iPhone?” Tap on Merge.
Now, open the Contacts app, the missing contacts will be back.
Solution #3: Restore Your iPhone with iTunes Backup
If you had backed up your iOS device with iTunes before the problem arose, restore it with that backup.
Step #1. Connect your iOS device to your computer. Trust the computer on your iPhone.
Step #2. Select your device. Then, click on Restore Backup.
Make sure to check out the date and size of each backup. Choose the most recent backup. Then, click Restore.
